At Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz, our primary mark on the world is helping people who have suffered serious injuries get the compensation they need to rebuild. As attorneys, we’ve helped more than 100,000 injured people and family members in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. But, our commitment to making the world a little better doesn’t end there. We also donate to and provide support on the ground to several worthwhile charities.
This holiday season, one of the organizations near and dear to our hearts provided gifts for more than 2,400 kids in Montgomery County. For Love of Children (FLOC) provides many services beyond the holiday gift-giving, including a program to provide duffel bags to foster children who would otherwise be carrying their belongings in plastic garbage bags, a grant-a-wish program, anti-bullying programs, tutoring, and other academic support, and much more.
The organization even has some unique offerings, such as providing formal wear for foster children who might otherwise not be able to attend events like their high school proms.
Here’s DGMS Managing Partner Doug Mann talking about the 2022 holiday gift giving event and sharing a sneak peek behind the scenes as staff and volunteers organize those gifts.
Doug has been a passionate supporter of FLOC since 1990–the same year he and Mike Dyer founded the firm–when he first organized a fundraiser for the organization after learning that many local foster children did not receive Christmas gifts. He currently serves as Co-Marketing Director of the organization, and his wife, Beth, is President of the Board. The academic skill center is named for Beth’s mother, Betsy Hoober, a retired English professor who tutors in the center.
The organization accepts donations year-round through its website or by mail to:

DGMS and its attorneys and staff support a wide range of other community organizations and causes as well. We participate in the Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project to provide free legal services to those who cannot afford them, and support organizations like Equality Ohio and PFLAG.
