Doug Mann Honored with NCCJ Humanitarian Award

Longtime Dayton Attorney Recognized for Decades of Community Service, Philanthropy, and Commitment to Making a Difference in the Lives of Others

DAYTON, Ohio (October 20, 2026) – For nearly four decades, Doug Mann has dedicated his career to fighting for others, but his commitment to helping people extends far beyond the courtroom.

Now, that dedication to serving the community he calls home is being recognized with one of the Miami Valley’s distinguished humanitarian honors.

Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz is proud to announce that Managing Partner Doug Mann has been selected as one of four 2026 Humanitarian Honorees by the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ) of Greater Dayton. Doug will be recognized during the organization’s 49th Annual Friendship Celebration on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at The Dayton Art Institute.

“Dayton has been my home for nearly 40 years,” said Doug Mann. “It’s where I raised my family, built my career, and met some of the most incredible people you’ll ever know. This community has given so much to me, and I’ve always believed that when you’re fortunate enough to be in a position to help others, you do it. You don’t do it for recognition. You do it because it’s the right thing to do. I’m incredibly humbled to receive this honor, especially alongside so many people who are making a difference every single day.”

The NCCJ Humanitarian Award recognizes individuals whose leadership, service, and advocacy help advance diversity, equity, inclusion, human rights, and a stronger, more compassionate community.

A Dayton native, Doug has spent nearly 40 years building his career, raising his family, and giving back to the community that helped shape him. As Managing Partner of Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz, he has helped grow the firm into one of the region’s recognizable personal injury law practices, while ensuring community involvement remains an important part of its identity.

Perhaps one of Doug’s most meaningful commitments is his decades-long involvement with FLOC (For Love of Children), a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit organization serving approximately 12,000 children each year throughout the Greater Dayton area.

For more than 35 years, Doug and his law firm have supported FLOC’s mission of providing children in need with essential resources, educational opportunities, and experiences that help them feel valued, supported, and empowered.

Alongside his wife, Beth Mann, who serves as President of FLOC, Doug has helped champion the organization’s growth and its numerous programs benefiting children and families across the Miami Valley.

“When you see firsthand the difference a little kindness and support can make in a child’s life, it changes you. That’s what I’ve experienced through my years with FLOC,” said Doug. “Sometimes something as simple as a warm coat, a new backpack, or someone believing in you can change the direction of a child’s life. My wife Beth and I have been blessed to be part of that mission, and I’m proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish together. This recognition means a great deal to me, but the real reward is knowing we’re making a difference for kids who need us.”

But Doug’s commitment to giving back doesn’t stop there.

Through Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz, he has supported numerous local nonprofits, youth programs, charitable initiatives, and community organizations. From helping families facing difficult circumstances to supporting organizations that create opportunities for children, Doug has consistently demonstrated a belief that success is measured not only by professional accomplishments, but also by the positive impact one makes on others.

His dedication to Dayton is personal. It’s the community where he grew up, raised his children, built his career, and continues to invest his time and resources.

The NCCJ recognition reflects a lifetime of service rooted in the belief that everyone deserves compassion, dignity, opportunity, and a community willing to stand beside them.

Celebrating Dayton’s Humanitarian Leaders

Mann is one of four individuals receiving the 2026 Humanitarian Award, alongside Bonnie Beaman Rice, Stephanie Van Hoose, and Dr. Anthony Whitmore.

The 49th Annual Friendship Celebration will also recognize:

  • Debbie Feldman – Pat Meadows Lifetime Achievement Award
  • The Dayton Foodbank – Premier Health Workplace Diversity Award
  • Cora Dunekacke and Alex Letcher – Youth Honorees

The annual celebration brings together community leaders, organizations, and advocates who share NCCJ’s commitment to building a more inclusive, equitable, and compassionate Greater Dayton.

For Doug, the recognition is an opportunity to celebrate not only the work being done throughout the community, but also the people and organizations making that work possible.

A Commitment That Goes Beyond the Courtroom

At Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz, giving back is more than a tradition. It’s a responsibility.

Under Doug’s leadership, the firm has continued to invest in the communities it serves, supporting local organizations, participating in charitable events, and building relationships with the people and families who call the Miami Valley home.

While Doug is being recognized individually, the honor also reflects the firm’s longstanding commitment to making a meaningful difference outside the courtroom.

For Doug Mann and Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz, being part of a community means more than working in it. It means showing up for it.

And after nearly four decades, that commitment remains as strong as ever.
